It’s such a long way to Singapore and that was not even journey’s end. On to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, northern Borneo. A day in the foothills of Mount Kinabalu amongst the carnivorous pitcher plants and colonial relics of British occupation. Over the mountains to Sandakan and through the jungle along the Kinabatangan river, watching for wildlife as we went, hoping to catch a glimpse of the local forest inhabitants.
Staying in the jungle is one of the most amazing things I have done. True, it was a type of tropical paradise glamping with some luxury accommodation!
