My journey into photography began in the early 1970s. At that time, it involved film, chemicals, darkrooms, and light meters. A photographer needed a strong instinct for f-stops, shutter speeds, ASA numbers, and depth of field to capture expression in light and color. Then the alchemical mystery in the darkroom. As we transitioned from analog to digital, it was inevitable that these skills would fade away. The camera in everyone’s smartphone turned nearly anyone into a photographer. However, digital technology has also opened new avenues for creativity which I explored in the first decade of the 21st century.
