Some people have travelled as far as New Zealand in search of Tolkien’s elves. Others will wander the mean streets of Manhattan in hope of a Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It’s the architecture for some of us; castles, palaces, bridges. A Swedish drama set on the bridge crossing the Oresund between Copenhagen and Malmo did it for me. My first trip to Scandinavia, I crossed the Oresund and thought of “Saga Norén, Länskrim Malmö”.
The easiest way to see Copenhagen is on a boat full of tourists with jolly guide but it’s also a good idea to just wander about the streets at random. How else would you find a Danish girl in a box? How else would I have found myself in the gardens of the Glyptotek?
Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek: I’d have easily missed all those wonderful animals adorning the walls had I not been waiting for the Flixbus home.
